MusicMasterPro – Guitar Targeted

Posted by akom Friday, April 15, 2011
When I first decided to learn Jazz and Rock guitar, I had no idea where to find a good guitar teacher so I checked out the nearest coaching school. They told me that I would need at least one hour a week for five weeks just to get started. They charged $35 per hour, and wanted me to sign up for this. My maths told me $175 was outside of my budget and that was just to get started… it could be $500 before I could play anything I really wanted.

Now your circumstances might be different to mine but this price for a hobby was too expensive – even if it was a passion - as I loved the idea of playing guitar.

I told my friends of my disappointment and that I needed to give up the idea of learning guitar professionally. Then one of my friends told me about how there were online music courses, and he strongly recommended I check out this site: www.MusicMasterPro.com

Hey, I had no idea you could learn how to play the guitar online. For a tiny once off joining fee, I got access to online video guitar lessons that I could download and watch as much as I like.

In the beginning I was a little unsure about how learning guitar on the internet was going to go but now, after following a few of the videos, I would not take guitar lessons any other way. It’s so easy, comfortable, fun and cheap.

You can stop and start your music lessons whenever you want, go over the guitar chord tutorials again and again until you get them right, and just do it whenever you feel like it, hours and hours a day. Learning guitar this way is the best and easiest, I promise you : )

I'm also now totally sold on the musical instrument teaching skills of Jay and Greg, who are the guys that run the site and do the video guitar lessons. With these guys, even a basic beginner musician like me can learn guitar quickly and notice the improvement. The way I see it, I now have two great private teachers in my own home 24 hours a day! I couldn’t ask for more. And it's cost me next to nothing.

In addition to the videos, what makes www.MusicMasterPro.com even better value when compared to any other music learning sites is that as a bonus, it is currently offering bass and drum courses all for the same single membership. Now, I'm able to learn bass too - at no extra cost! My musical skills are growing rapidly and I'm enjoying my music more than I ever have.

I truly recommend www.MusicMasterPro.com to everyone wanting to learn to play a musical instrument or for those wanting to improve their guitar playing skills. The guys who have put together these video courses are very skilled, friendly and have true passion for music.

This lifetime membership to www.MusicMasterPro.com is a steal. It is definitely the best online value I have ever seen.

The music download industry keeps evolving, as more players enter the game and alliances are formed within a blink of an eye. We’re all aware of AT&T partnering with giant Apple Inc. to promote the iPhone, which of course uses iTunes for its ringtone capabilities. As more mobile phones encompass multimedia functions, the music and telecommunications industries are realizing their unfolding opportunities to meld together.

AT&T and Napster, one of the original music download services, are joining together and providing direct download capabilities, according to CNNMoney. In an effort to avoid mobile-to- PC connections to transfer music files, direct downloads are growing in popularity. More mobile phone owners are using their cell phones as MP3 players, not to mention the added benefit of using downloads as ringtones.

Similarly, in Australia, Nokia is stepping up to the plate in music downloads, providing free Wi-Fi zones for Nokia Nseries customers. They plan to launch a music download service of their own sometime this year, and with their free Wi-Fi campaign, more and more Australian-based Nokia users will be more apt to try it out come launch time.

Telecommunications companies and mobile phone service providers aren’t the only ones switching up the music download industry. 6StarReviews.com reports that Amazon’s newest service, AmazonMP3, is offering lower prices on individual songs and albums than some of their competitors, such as iTunes.

Their 2-million some music collection stands out in that its music files are DRM-free and iTunes and Windows Multimedia Player-compatible. Though competition amongst music download providers is inevitable, anyone with a mobile phone or MP3 player will continue to be exposed to countless options.

The City of Live Music

Posted by akom
Anyone who lives in Austin knows why the city council adopted the slogan “live music capital of the world” in 1991. For those just visiting, the city offers many opportunities to find out.
The famed music scene of Austin began in the 60s and 70s at the Vulcan Gas Company. Musicians played country music here to crowds of loud and enthusiastic fans.

Willie Nelson moved to Austin in 1965 and kick started his career in front of these audiences. He went on to become one of the most successful country music artists of all time. Not long after, the Vulcan Gas Company became known as the Armadillo World Headquarters, or just The Armadillo, and Austin’s music really took off.

As the music scene grew more popular, Austin gained a reputation for welcoming struggling artists. Bands and singers knew they would find receptive audiences at numerous informal establishments and the type of music played expanded to include jazz, blues, rock and roll, and everything in between.

The music scene in Austin has fostered the career of many now famous musicians. Perhaps the most legendary, Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of the most influential blues guitarists in the world. He first played at Antone’s, the club founded by his mentor and record producer, Clifford Antone.

Television and annual festivals have helped Austin develop into the live music capital. The show Austin City Limits first aired on PBS in 1975. The live music experience showcased the variety of artists heard in Austin and helped significantly to grow the city’s music reputation. Almost every kind of music imaginable can be heard at the three day Austin City Limits Music Festival held every September. Since its inception in 2002, it has become one of the premier music festivals in the country.

The Sixth Street area of downtown Austin houses the largest collection of live music venues and is the location of the South by Southwest Festival. SXSW, as it is known, is a music and film festival that has generated more revenue than even the Texas Longhorn’s home games.

Certainly, the times of year that coincide with the music festivals are the most exciting for fans of live music. At any other time of year, tourists may be disappointed with the atmosphere of the famed Sixth Street area. Several of the original, small music venues have closed and in their place are more profitable bars and clubs.

While some may believe the eclectic, small feel of Austin’s music scene is waning, others still revel in the live entertainment.

There are many different ways to approach guitar tuning. We'll touch on a couple of the more effective methods on how to tune a guitar. Not necessarily the most popular as some methods, though extensively used, are considered 'bad habits' rather than genuine, effective guitar tuning alternatives.

The guitar standard tuning is as follows:
  • STRING - 6th String (bottom, bass, low) NOTE - E
  • 5th String - A
  • 4th String - D
  • 3rd String - G
  • 2nd String - B
  • 1st String (top, treble, high) - E

Tips For Any Guitar Tuning Method

First, lets cover a few things that every player should know when taking the proper approach to guitar tuning and how to learn to tune guitar.

Learn to attach the strings to the machine heads properly. Never try to tune down to a note. Stretch the strings and tune up to the note. Tuning heads have a certain amount of 'play' in them so make a couple of deep bends and then fine tune the string. Before tuning a suspect string, check it against both adjacent strings to determine which string is actually out of tune. The string you suspect may not even be the culprit. When tuning a guitar with a vibrato arm, tune the string, give the arm a good shake, stretch the string, give the arm another shake and fine tune.

Veterans of guitar playing will already know these things so if you're a beginner and just learning to play the guitar, you're already ahead of the game if you implement these practices into your routine. For a great tool visit http://www.guitarmusician.com/guitar-tuner.htm

Here's A Quick Method For Guitar Tuning

Tune the treble (high) E string to an A440 tuning fork by holding your finger on the 5th fret, then tune the open B string to the open treble E string – listening to the interval of a fourth. It's easy to hear the fourth in that register.

Play the A note fretted at the 2nd fret of the G string, and compare it to the open treble E string – you're listening for a perfect fifth interval.

Fret the 2nd fret E note on the D string and compare it to the treble E string open. Double check this by fretting the E note on the 14th fret of the D string.

Now tune the 7th fret harmonic on the A string (an E note) to the open treble E string.
Finally, tune the 5th fret harmonic on the bass E string to the open treble E string.
This is a simple guitar tuning method that works well.

Finger Memory

Posted by akom Saturday, March 19, 2011
What? Strange to think your fingers have memory but what I mean is the coordination between your mind and the muscles in your fingers. The number one reason people give up playing guitar is because they don't get past the finger training stage. Who is the finger trainer than? You are! You are the only one that can make that connection between your brain and your fingers to get them to work together and do what you want them to.

It's just like riding a bike you had to train yourself to balance, shove off and switch to pedaling all the while keeping your balance. I can teach you where to put your fingers but you have to put them there! Only you can make yourself good at it. This is the hardest thing you will ever have to learn! But the teacher is you.. so start teaching yourself now!

Here are a few good exercises to help coordinate your brain and fingers:

Pull-offs/Trills

Pull-offs and trills are great exercises to build hand strength and are a necessary element to lead guitar playing. The idea is to: hold the string with one finger and pull it off the string to the point where it feels as if the meat of your finger is plucking the string... You'll feel the string snap out from underneath the finger and in so doing the note you hold behind the one you just pulled off from will ring.

Finger Memory

A trill is the process of hammering a finger down on a string and pulling of repeatedly. The hammer action causes a note to sound and pulling it off so that the note fingered behind it sounds. The only difference between a pull-off and a trill is that a trill is repeatedly really fast.

Guitar D Drop Tuning

Posted by akom

Guitar D Drop TuningDrop D tuning (commonly known as 'dropped d') is very very very simple to get. Usually we can easily find this kinda trick when you hear about heavy metal stuffs.. I prefer to call it the industrial rock, rock music today.

WHATEVER.. Lol..!!!

Now a days.. I really like so much about that kinda music... bands like Godsmack, Mudvayne, American Head Charge, and so on because they use a tuning like this one. By lowering the E tone makes the music a bit more weight, the result.. more frightening.. pounding drums would have more make our heart beat faster when we're in the studio or something.

I'M IN CHARGE MISTER!!! Lmao!!!

It's easy ... All you have to do is lower the tone E (6th string) to D. Anticipation of its similarity to pluck the strings 4th (D string) and then pick the low E that you have sent down earlier. See what I've done below...

Guitar D Drop Tuning

You guys don't need some hard move to your guitar power chords to get sound in tune, once you get that just like I said, it RULES!!!

Harmonics

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - HarmonicsHarmonics are bell-like sounds that are achieved in various ways. For those of you who haven't done these before, i would recommend starting with the easiest. All you do is lightly touch each string directly over the 12th fret with any left-hand finger. Strike the string and release the finger immediately.

The notes on the musical notation have a diamond shape and above the stave you will see 8va which indicates that the notes sound an octave higher.

The other 'easy' Harmonics are at the 5th, 7th and 9th also don't forget the 12th frets. However, this time you will find that the notes produced by these harmonics are not the same as notes indicated on the tablature. In other words, if you look at this, where the strings are touched directly over the 5th fret, the notes themselves are E A D G B E, 6 5 4 3 2 1

Harmonics at 5th fret.

Notes produced are : E A D G B E

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Harmonics

Harmonics at 7th fret.

Notes produced are : B E A D F# B

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Harmonics

Harmonics at 9th fret.

Notes produced are : G# C# F# B D# G#

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Harmonics

Harmonics at 12th fret.

Notes produced are : E A D G B E

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Harmonics

Many of guitar tuto for this domain said that if you try this kinda trick anywhere else on the string, you hear a dead sound without any damn ring, that means you can't produce a perfect harmonics.. but I dissagree with that... All strings produce their own harmonics.

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Arpeggio ScaleCan there truly be anyone who ain't fascinated in the very least by the amazing huge crazy sound of guitar effect - the breathtaking ambience, the amazing sleight of hand that make our ears stare in awe?

Actually.. I've already wrote this in Bahasa, and this time I wanted to share it back to you old man, (kidding, lol) but in a different language (just because I’m just that kind of guy).

OK.. I'll just start with Arpeggios. Arpeggio itself is a chord notations that plucked alternately, which is not really a complicated thing, whenever you play on an acoustic guitar and then you play it perfect or a lot of people call it the word beam chord or musical notes and then you shock or strings, then it is Arpeggios.

Heavy Metal Warm-Up - Arpeggio ScaleOn electric guitar, we can easily find this a lot on Neoclassical music, because this is much similar with the notation of the violin, such as Yngwie J Malmsteen, Lee Retenour, Eddie Van Halen or even my fav guitarist ever John Pettrucci, etc..

G Major Chord Scale

An exciting way of exploring the fingerboard further is by way of the Arpeggio Scale. However, before attempting this, first study the following chord diagrams and you will see that they form a chord scale. The root note of each chord is from the G Major Scale = G A B C D E F# G

G Major Arpeggio 'Scale'

The G Major Arpeggio scale acts as an excellent warm-up routine. This will increase your knowledge of the fingerboard thus helping to promote exciting musical ideas for song, riffs and solos. See the image on the left to get the impression :)

I’m only going to remind you here more often of something you already know, size doesn't matters.. Is it?!?! Lmao. In practicing guitar, your finger must be long enough to touch clearly or you don’t have a snowball’s chance.

Enough said. The important thing is don't let the people laugh at you, behind your back... just because your finger ain't longer enuf to touch the rest of the scale board. Lol.

So, let’s assume that you'll never bother with this kinda prob.. That’s OK then..

Extended Arpeggios

The following arpeggios start at the lower end of the fingerboard and finish at the higher end.

Now, you know everything I know (well, plus what you knew before). I hope this works well for you; it is the way guitarists are professionally played for their fans.

Think of me sometime guys while you’re polishing your trophies. I knew you could do it :)

String Bend

Posted by akom
String BendThis is a kind of post I created in order to continue our last lesson on reading guitar tablature. This time I just wanna share you guys on how you read a bending technique on the guitar.

Do you have any idea, what the String Bend is? String Bend is a sort of techniques to raise the tone until you get the aim of the high note you want. Practice bending the strings and each direction... pushing up and pulling down. Pick a note and while it's ringing bend the string.

String BendE -------------
B -------------
D -----
4b6-----
G -------------
A -------------
E -------------

The intention of the image is the third string from the bottom you plucked (the string on the 4th fret) raised the voice up until you hear the sound of the note in the 6th fret.

Like pull-offs, string bending is totally a great exercise to build hand strength and is an obviously necessary element to lead guitar playing.

Hell yeah.. If you're still at an early stage, a beginner guitar students or whatever you name it, indeed.. this can make you feel sick at your fingertips. But... what's the daddy said, practice makes perfect, after all, it's not that painful.
